Longevity Science

Aging biology, minus the wishful thinking

Longevity is the field with the widest gap between what is marketed and what is known. We report the biology honestly, including how much of it remains unresolved.

  • Outcome data over surrogate markers
  • Animal results not extrapolated
No compound has been shown to extend human lifespan. That sentence is the honest state of the field as of today, and any page that implies otherwise is selling something. Interesting biology is worth following — it is not yet worth acting on.

Four things to hold onto

The framing that makes the rest legible

The interventions with the best evidence are unglamorous

Resistance training, cardiorespiratory fitness, sleep, not smoking, and managing blood pressure and lipids have decades of human outcome data behind them. No peptide currently comes close to that evidence base.

Biological age tests are not outcomes

Epigenetic clocks and similar measures are research tools with meaningful measurement variability. A test moving is not the same as your health improving, and no clock has been validated as a target to treat.

Animal lifespan results rarely transfer

Interventions that extend lifespan in short-lived species have a poor track record in humans. Species differences in metabolism and cause of death are the reason, not insufficient dosing.

Surrogate markers are not the goal

A compound can improve a biomarker and change nothing about how long or how well you live. Outcome data is scarce in this field precisely because it takes decades to produce.
